History of the Turkestan Higher Agrarian College

1. Foundation and Establishment

The college was founded in 1972 on the basis of the South Kazakhstan State Agricultural Experimental Station, in accordance with the decree of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR. The original name was "Shymkent Sovkhoz-Technikum".

2. Key Milestones of Development

• 1996–2003: Renamed to "Shymkent Agrotechnical College".

• 2003: Received the status of "Shymkent Agrarian College" and a state license for educational activities based on the decree of the regional Akimat.

• 1992: The educational process was fully transitioned to the state language.

• 2019: The college was granted higher status and renamed to "Turkestan Higher Agrarian College".

3. Infrastructure and Academic Programs

• Infrastructure: 4-story educational building, dormitory, sports and assembly halls, driving range (autodrom), training workshops, experimental fields, and a canteen.

• Academic Programs: Since 1972, the college has been training professionals in fields such as mechanization, electrification, agronomy, economics and accounting, standardization, land management, and others.
